The UK is leading the way in research into art & design and studying for a research degree enables our students to compete at a world-class level.
The Media, Arts and Design Research Centre is one of four research centres within Glyndŵr University that provides an external platform for seminars, events and the supervision of research degrees. Research students have access to and become embedded in all the facilities the School of Creative Arts has to offer.
A close-knit community, we have a growing number of students and we also encourage interdisciplinary projects that utilise other areas of expertise within Glyndŵr University. The School of Creative Arts is contributing to socio-economic evolutions within North Wales and our research includes projects in the fields of fine art, applied arts and design that explore themes ranging from arts in health, holography, art and design pedagogy, Welsh identity and arts/science collaborations.
Today’s contemporary artist or designer is no longer an isolated practitioner, but someone who is addressing advanced technological applications and complicated social issues through artistic means.
The School of Creative Arts Research Centre is fostering clusters of expertise that will feed back into the life of the University, North Wales and beyond.
