Fine Art

Join our Fine Art degree and you’ll be able to explore an extensive range of approaches including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, installation, video and lens-based and digital media. Choose to specialise in any one of these or broaden your skills in each as you progress through the degree.

Fine art is perhaps one of the most challenging and rewarding subjects in art and design, giving you the opportunity to maximise your creative and critical skills.

You will develop the ability to adapt creative solutions to new situations, solve problems and manage your time effectively. You will learn to make effective use of a range of materials, techniques and technologies, work with others and develop an awareness of how to communicate with your audience. You will gain experience of the professional working environment through our highly regarded Creative Futures professional development modules exploring anything from teaching to arts in health, working in galleries or public art to name but a few.

Ultimately you will find your own unique creative voice and will be able to take your work and your career in the direction that suits you.

Working with a committed team of practicing artists and lecturers, the BA Fine Art at the School of Creative Arts encourages students to develop their ideas and practical skills in ways that are purposeful and insightful. With an emphasis on experimental practice and innovation, this programme will equip students with the skills, criticality and confidence to become ambitious creative professionals.
